Saturday, May 11th, 2024 I'd never thought about those, Glyn. I'm sure I've seen the septic's talking about them a lot more. But, that might have been regarding amphibians. I'll have to look into them. Thanks.
Bit of a missed opportunity, I'm thinking. For some enterprising person? I saw film of a bloke, Netherlands or something? Had an ordinary shipping container. Parked on a corner somewhere.
Open it up though, and it was a perfectly lit up and tidy unit, inside. Floor to ceiling 'cages' of Crickets, all at their various stages.

Saturday, May 11th, 2024 Hyah, Glyn. Little 'Health Scare' kept me distracted for a bit, there! All's well though. Back in the saddle :)
Yeah. Been sniffing around ... Now; I'll spare ye the whaffle. I get my mealworms *About* €12.50 a Kg? Something like that?
I Tried Hexafly: Sorry. I'm Not giving Anyone my name, address and card details, Just to ask a Price, from Any firm that hides their email behind an 'On Line Contact Form'. That's just me. Never do.
Have *You* got through to them? Got any figures to compare, please? Shipping? It could be a close run thing! :)
Thanks.

Tuesday, May 28th, 2024 Hi Ratcatcher,
Sorry to hear you have been unwell.
I assume you are after dried whole larvae. They do them at 8€ for 500g plus 8€ carriage, give or take a few cent. A bit more than mealworms, but a more consistent source.

How is the goldtop breeding project going?

Whoah! Well; Aside from the fact that I now feel a right loon, having utterly failed to navigate a bloody web site?! (How did I miss all that?!)
Eyeballed the big bags there, Glyn? But, Live? Those larvae will last five minutes, before they're dead, or beetles. So, That's out. And, buying them by the gram, dried? LOL! I'd be chucking down a 'packet' a day! Oh, well .....
Unwell? Heh! Thankfully; Good as gold, mate! It was the old 'CC' test kit result? (Forgive me: I know neither ye age, nor the exact age this all kicks in) Blood!!! :o
Anyone reading this and possibly a candidate? This was my second, three yearly, test. I'm a Veteran now, look? 'AMA' LMAO!
" The Goldtop Breeding Project "? Lawd! How long ye got? :(
Seriously though, I have So Much going on just now. In my head, And on the ground. I was *Literally* just heading out to do some head scratching. *And*, I'm just an hour after ... well; Another chapter unfolded there. Hence my new schemes.
I'll kick off another, dedicated thread, presently. Got enough to tell, and ask ...

Wednesday, May 29th, 2024 The bags of dried are 500 grams! So not too bad. You can freeze the live ones but I think they'll work out more expensive as they are mainly water.
