Rabbit Population in your area
Hi I was wondering if anyone has noticed similar issues of rabbit populations virtually disapearing in their area, im in laois and where i live up to 8-10 years ago was black with rabbits, rumor has it a big dairy farmer released the rhd2 virus but has this been an issue anywhere else recently?
I purchased live rabbits and let them off down old warrens and they are still there, only 10 of them, they have adapted to the bank quiet well considering its been years since there was rabbits there

Tuesday, November 23rd, 2021 I have permission in shanahoe. Borris has a few pockets of them is all compared to 10 or 15 years ago. Ferreting used to be a great sport but that rhd2 rendered my ferrets pets and i sold them unfortunatly.

Tuesday, November 23rd, 2021 Borris in ossary is nothing like it was years ago. They are nearly wiped out there. The place used to be alive there before now your lucky to see a good handful on a nice summer evening. I don't know about rhd there but I know mixy never kept the population down. I seen it out there countless times and the populations stayed well up

Tuesday, November 23rd, 2021 Yeo, same thing in many parts of Westmeath and Offaly. Wiped out over ten years ago, and never recovered. I gave up ferreting, with the lack of rabbits.
