Crows eating eggs

Hi folks,

Having a big problem the last few weeks with rooks and grey crows eating eggs in the shed, what’s the best way of stopping this? Thanks

^^^ Just a suggestion, Fintan.

Proofing out crows, while allowing chickens access? Good luck with that! As Sun Tzu is credited with having said; " Bloody crows! "

Never, personally, observed a Rook touching an egg. Only seen them walk about, ignoring eggs, as they ate their layer pellets I put out for them.

Now they know what's there you will find it hard to stop them. Before they find the eggs, strips of damp proof membrane over the entrance can work. As ratcatcher suggests rollaway nest boxes could be your answer.

Thanks folks, I think I’ll give the roll away nest boxes a go, might be a good solution, it’s the grey crows I’ve seen them go into the shed and come out with broken eggs

Fintan; As we're dealing with a bird whose reasoning capacity gives my own a run for its money? I'd strongly suggest gaffer taping over those Transparent 'Viewing Flaps' there.

No quarter. LOL.
