Trail Camera / Solar Camera Recommendations

Good afternoon all,

I was a member on this forum since 2010 but was out of poultry for a few years (away traveling, having kids etc).

My question has multiple factors.

We’re in the processing of getting planning to build our family home, on my partners family land. I’m not from this area so before myself & the kids get the hens, I want to see what I’m dealing with.
So question 1; does anyone have recommendations for a trail cam I can set up and review to see what’s in the area?

The hens will be set up before we start building / move in. They will be 5 minute drive away & am planning on the automatic door etc. & will be with them 2-3 times a day, but want a camera I can check from my phone throughout the day.
Question 2: does anyone have recommendations for a camera that does not need wifi that will connect the my phone - solar type camera maybe?

Thank you, and generally I would agree, but we are at the site every day/ passing etc. but we won’t be there to hear the hens alerting us if there is something bothering them. Hence why I asked for recommendations.

Baby Alarm?

Seriously. If That's ye purpose. Were I on Major Tom's, I'd start a search on '(Remote?) Baby Alarm' and see where that led.

Trail Cam's though? For us? Generally a waste of time. I personally have a Lot of trail cams. I had other uses for them though. For my birds, I use electric fencing and traps. Prevention over snuff films.

Where are you? (I have a few cameras and could loan you one).

Your best source of info is https://trailcampro.com.

However, almost all cameras now are made in China and should be able to get a perfectly good one in Europe, including in Ireland (at least two shops in Dublin sell them over the counter). Lidl sell one for €99 that is remarkably good for the money, better than things I paid a lot more for a few years ago. I bought one at the checkout last summer. It's a "German" (made in China) brand called "Wildcam".
