Diatomaceous Earth
Hi all,
Wondering what thoughts people have on using diatomaceous earth on chickens and feeding it to them. From what I have read it seems like a pretty good all-round thing to use for chickens.
Also, I am on the look-out for the cheapest way that I could buy it. If anyone could help me out in this regard that would be great.
Thanks
Carter

Tuesday, November 15th, 2022 In Germany we use it in human diets as well as in animals'. It sure won't do any harm and as supplements go they don't come more natural and chemical-free.
As for the benefits in birds, those might be difficult to spot in healthy birds but now with the housing mandatory might be a good idea.

Wednesday, November 16th, 2022 I personally wouldn't use it on the birds or housing. It is a respiratory irritant and a known cause of silicosis. I find it amazing it can be sold for this purpose. Feeding shouldn't cause any harm, but I am not convinced it will do any good though.

Friday, November 18th, 2022 Sorry. No, mate. I was just referencing the point that DE is like what people say about that disgusting " Marmite ". Ye either love it or hate it.
Religion, politics and DE. Three things that should never be brought up in a pub.
