Where to buy the cheapest but most quality egg cartons possible?

This question kind of contradicts itself or something. But you should get the idea. I want the most quality egg cartons I kind find for as cheap as possible. I am looking for 1/2 dozen egg cartons. Mac Eoin sells some pretty cheap ones but I think they are not very good quality. Also I am willing to buy in bulk. Like up to around 500 at a time or something. I would be interested in hearing where other people buy their egg cartons and what kind.
Thanks
Carter

Why do they have to be new? Why not reuse old ones? Put the word out and get people to collect them for you. You'll be amazed and people are delighted to get rid of them. For regular customers who get the dozen box we put their names on and get them to return their boxes every week. We have never bought an egg box and have about a years supply tucked away under the stairs!

Aliexpress plastic cartons are cheaper than cardboard.
You will be waiting a few weeks. Choose a cheap delivery option. I use aliexpress for odds and ends all the time.

Try alibaba too but you might have to be registered for VAT. Businesses or anyone self employed get their stock from here.

I will sometimes reuse egg cartons. But the egg cartons I use for selling in shops should be similar in color and usually need to not have other peoples labels and such on them. On my labels I say something like please return egg cartons to shop. And I can get a good many back which is nice. I also get egg cartons that I wouldn't really want to use like green ones with labels that when you tear them off it can start to ruin the carton.
But still not everyone returns them and eventually they get ruined and different things combine and mean that I still need to buy in new ones after a while. I don't sell much to neighbors so I don't get many back that way.
Another thing, I don't think that people like plastic cartons very much. With the cardboard cartons being biodegradable I think people like that better.
Thanks everyone

I don't like the plastic cartons either and when I get any given to me I put them in the bin. You can also tell alot about people by their egg cartons! I like to see free-range or organic then I know they care about which eggs they buy. The plastic ones are always from caged hens.

There are cardboard cartons on these sites too. If you check the links you will see that. I only said the plastic cartons are cheaper.
If you want a large quantity of cardboard then check alibaba for what you want and contact some of the manufacturers here for the best price. I am sure Mac Eoin did this already and picked the cheapest he could find. Minimum cost maximum profit.
Every cardboard egg carton now days is Chinese made just like everything's else.
The chicken fillet roll in your nearest filling station for example, if you search on alibaba for the fillet you will find it cooked and frozen and ready to ship in massive quantities.

Egg packaging is very low value with very high transport costs.
We have never sold Chinese egg cartons as most do not comply with food standard packaging.
All our egg packaging is European made but at present pricing is rising dramatically due to transport costs also you now have an energy tax on most packing coming from France where most is made.
The cheapest box we supply is Ä 45.00 currently for 462 pieces for small quantities, prices do drop if you buy 28 cases of 462 or 28 pallets of 28 cases.
the better the quality the higher the pricing.
