Ross cobbs are a meat bird, there are places that you can buy day olds. We've done it a few times, depends where you are in the country but try googling day old ross cobbs or similar and you should be able to find some.

Get an indian game rooster and crossbreed with le bresse, dorking, wyandotte, light sussex, plymouth rocks, bielefelder or any other heavy breed bred for meat.

Ixxworths are a good free ranging broiler and a good layer too.
