Gas Brooder
I'm looking for a gas brooder. Would anyone have one to sell? Will need it in a couple of weeks.

Hi, there was a small gas brooder called a bh2, was for up to 100 birds. I don’t have any for sale but I bought two years ago. Handy size and were economical to run. Next size up is pheasant brooders and for the number of chicks you intend to hatch it wouldn’t be worthwhile with the price of bottled gas. There used to be brooders heated by paraffin oil, every farm would have had one years ago, still some knocking about. Eltex was one brand and they made greenhouse heaters as well. I seen once a greenhouse heater being used to brood young turkeys and it worked alright, the woman had a wire guard around the flue to stop the birds getting singed. Another man wasn’t so lucky and he overfilled the tank and his barn burnt down. MacEoins might have something.

We have stock of the 250 & 500 bird Alke gas brooders & have 48 pieces of 1000 bird gas heaters due in 2 weeks.
The 250 bird gas brooder has been discontinued but we have about 18 pieces left here.
These gas brooders can be turned down as they come with a 10 stage regulator to fit the 47kg propane gas bottles but would not be economical for less than 100 bird batches.
Since the electric hen heatplates became so economical to run small gas brooders are not as favourable.

I need a gas brooder for about 36 chicks. All the gas brooders seems to be for commercial use only...
Martinp, I'll Google what you've mentioned... has to be something out there or I might have to invest in more chicks lol..
Flock Master, are your gas brooders for use on a smaller scale?

The smallest Gas Brooder we do is the 250 bird one and these are being discontinued.
I am not aware of anything available now under this size.
