Simply spray the cracks and joints with bleach.

Johnny, I find Smite products great. The premixed spray is handy if you have a small area and you can also mix the bedding with the powder. The red mite is a curse in wooden nestboxes so if you use it weekly when you clean it out, it should keep them at bay. I also put some of the powder in their dust bath, saves me having to put it on them myself.
