Bringing Runner Ducks from England to Ireland

Hi Folks,

Is it possible for me to bring 4 Indian Runner Ducks into the Republic of Ireland from England, and what documentation would be required?

The ducks would be travelling with me via ferry.

Many thanks, Robin.

[ I held a referendum earlier this afternoo, and my Indian Runners voted unanimously to rejoin the European Union. ]

Not sure anybody can give you an honest and direct answer to that at present.
Come thursday midnight, most rules will change..
Presently importation licences are required, along with a vets certifacate.. Not many adhere to this.
There are many good runners on this island without the need to bring more in/over.
I guess it depends on what colour you are looking.

Dont think your suppose to be moving birds right now bird flu,you could always smuggle them in whats the worst that could happen there far worse crossing our borders, then off course theres plenty of them knocking about in this side of the water.

You will need to get a health cert for them, eg get blood test done on the ducks.

See Gov.ie agriculture import of poultry
Rules change 31st December 2020 for Republic of Ireland
Import rules from non EU country now apply

Also see UK bird flu restricted movement Regulations.
Check out or phone arrival port for further guidance as this is new for everyone.

Would, nt be the brightest idea in the world to try and smuggle birds during both a human pandemic and a bird flu situation.
Think you, ll find it highly illegal and if caught be dealt with by the full force of the law, huge fine and possible imprisonment.
But sure typical Irish attitude, sure give it a go and see how you get on.
Fucking madness 🙄

No if your caught they might take them off ye and might not I've known of people using chickens as a decoy you'd be supprised how a few bantans can mess with a sniffer dogs nose, but Ive never heard of birds being confiscated or any trouble arising from such.

You obviously haven't been at any of the ports lately paddy.
Major push on animals been smuggled, vehicles being checked going on and off plus all the other checks to do with Covid and Bréxit.
You, d want to be mad to even consider it.
Then again there's a lot of mad people out there
