Campines - Silver/Golden

I'm hoping to start breeding either silver or golden campines in the spring.
Has anyone experience or advice on this breed?
Thanks for the help!

How, will you hatch your own eggs?

Yes, but I need to get a pair or a trio first. I'll source them after Christmas.

Not too sure, Desy. I know theyíre difficult to find in Ireland. How large are the large ones, in comparison to other breeds?
Sulky, Iíll keep you in mind!

They are actually quite small.
Many bantam breeds like Croads, wyandotte would be nearly as big.
They are known for being quite a nervous breed, flighty at times.
They are good layers and love to forage.
They are hard to obtain anywhere UK or Ireland.

I have read that about them alright. I was also thinking of Lakenvelders or any other rare or endangered breeds. Iíll see when the spring comes. Thanks a million for your replies.

I used to keep them years ago found them very flighty and nervous thatís why I got out of them . If you are looking for a rare breed beliefelder are a beautiful bird . I originally got mine from the Netherlands and they were such nice birds and there is a couple of breeders in Ireland I got out of them a few years ago but hope to get them again on a few years
