hundreds of dogs are being stolen all around the country and ending up on donedeal or being shipped to the uk and sold there.I know down my way a lot of dogs have very recently been recovered by the gardai and many have been reunited with their owners. This has been going on for the last few months. The decisions taken by websites that advertise dogs for sale or re-homing/ adoption have bee influenced by the gardai. There are and have been lot of articles lately about dogs of all breeds stolen an reunited with owners or not recovered at all. It's really sad when it happens to the elderly and their dog is their only companion. This is what I am reading about in local news papers almost every week. Anyone that would take someone's family pet for the sake making a quick Euro are lower than the crass of society!!!!

Dog theft will continue dd had little influence on that we are quickly becoming a dictatorship marsha law the Gardai have been long involved in animal theft long before this scandemic.

Proper order, these puppy farmers are ruthless.

swan 555
Saturday, August 8th, 2020

It will have little to no effect on puppy farmers any way the average pat or tom will buy of a puppy farmer quicker than they will from a responsible dog breeder, the same way people buy poor quality poultry of dd out of dirty crowed sheds.

paddycrawford

Will this affect your dog sales much paddy? Do you advertise much on donedeal?

swan 555
Saturday, August 8th, 2020

It won't effect me I've one bitch hopfully in pup all pups sold before she was even AI'd.

paddycrawford
Saturday, August 8th, 2020

You can advertise dogs on gumtree free and easily.

paddycrawford

With the lockdown, dog prices advertised on Donedeal rocketed to crazy prices. The high rise in prices, resulted in a huge rise in dog theft. Therefore, Donedeal decided to postpone the sale of dogs, and rightly so.

nedzer

Sure how is that going to stop dog theft.

paddycrawford
Monday, August 10th, 2020

stopping the sale of dogs on done deal will in no way shape or form stop dog theft .the last thing someone who has stolen a dog is going to do is advertise it openly on the internet as
anybody who has had a dog stolen is going to be scanning any sites where dogs are advertised .
done deal has a hidden adgenda they refused to accept any adverts for working dogs several years ago .
The ONLY good things about their refusal to now refuse any dogs for sale adds, is it might stop the spiraling prices being asked for schitzypoo pups etc etc etc as no-one will have any guide to what people are asking for their market driven cash crop puppies ! and if they are not allowed to advertise they might not be as keen to breed them

Theres going to be a lot of pups getting drowned again thats for sure.

paddycrawford
Tuesday, August 11th, 2020

Its those ridiculous price rises on places like donedeal that has created the rise in stolen dog's. No one can deny that. There are still working dogs advertised on there. Patterdales going for eight and nine hundred euro. Same with Jack Russell's. Cross breeds, and f**** lickers going for crazy money. This is the problem. Too many idiots willing to fork out big bucks for a mongrel with a free bowl, and a bag of crap to feed it with.

Its supply and demand same as anything people are entitled to do as they please with their money.

paddycrawford

Ah no paddy huge prices encourages puppy farmes to pump out product, thats all they are. Badly breed and by no means socialized which leads to a range of problems, with nervous and sometimes aggressive adult dogs, its disgraceful.

swan 555
Friday, August 14th, 2020

Well most bitches can only breed once a year twice at best so you can't really pump them out its not like chickens ducks and incubators its more up to nature with dogs and its bad owners that make nervous aggressive animals be it dogs cows ducks rabbits or what ever the breeder only has them for the first eight weeks or so.

paddycrawford
Friday, August 14th, 2020

The first 8 weeks is the most important time to socialize any pup, all good breeders will tell you that,
Also bitches should not be breed before 18 months or older than 8 yrs, and not more than 5 times in this period,
What I'm telling you is puppy farms are breaking all these rules, but I'm positive you know this.
Poultry will lay an egg a day regardless of weather you choose to hatch it in an incubater or not,
There's no comparison
Not sure how you would make one.

swan 555
Saturday, August 15th, 2020

How many bitches do you breed off JP and what breed do you keep.

paddycrawford
Saturday, August 15th, 2020

Now paddy, you don't have to do something to know something about it,
I might only have 22 summers on the planet, but I listen to wise old men like yourself, well sometimes lol

swan 555
Monday, August 17th, 2020

Well a bit of advice stay away from the google and listen to wise old men a little more often and don't be putting 18 month old pups in pup or putting it on the WWW for naive gullible people to replicate.

paddycrawford
Monday, August 17th, 2020

Just stating the rules of the Irish kennel club its actually from 1 yr old and not more then 4 times in a dogs lifetime. I was a little off on what iv been told by the wise old men, maybe I should consult Google more often.
You probably don't involve yourself with the ikc paddy? To many regulations, or whats your opinion on them?

swan 555
Tuesday, August 18th, 2020

Bitches really shouldn't be bred from under two years old I leave mine till their three years old all my bull dogs are IKC registered with top pedigrees the IKC is wide open to manipulation its really just a money spinner for commercial breeders.

paddycrawford
Tuesday, August 18th, 2020

Are bulldogs on the dangerous dog list,
Do you think this is warranted?

swan 555
Tuesday, August 18th, 2020

paddycrawford
Tuesday, August 18th, 2020

I see a lot more selling on dogs.ie since donedeal stopped the adds. If someone had the knowhow, there is a gap there for a good site for selling dogs etc.

nedzer
Friday, October 23rd, 2020

50 euro an advert on dogs.ie for five days seems a bit excessive.

paddycrawford
Friday, October 23rd, 2020

I never look on there usually Paddy, but had a look the other day because nothing on Donedeal, and little on Gumtree. Just noticed a lot more hunting dogs on dogs.ie, but prices rediculously high
