Tylan soluble on way out!?

Has anyone else heard that Tylan is being withdrawn in a month's time? I wonder why this is or if there will be something to replace it. It was our first line of defence when a hen was looking peaky. It seems to be getting more and more difficult for ordinary people to get what they need to look after their fowl.

An axe has always been my first line of defence reusable and you can chop wood with it to.😉

Your dead right paddy.
If the health of your flock is dependent on drugs then there's something seriously wrong with your poultry keeping skills.

Nobody needed to be injecting/administering any of this shite years ago because people knew how to breed and look their birds.
There's a a lot to be said for the old poultry keeping ways that's for sure

Thanks Desy .

Ali570 did your friend ever find out what was wrong with the chicks?

I bet not because he just lashed some drugs into them and hoped for the best, great poultry keeping there alright.

Tylan has done more harm than good to poultry keeping, breed for resistance.

Then ye won't be needing the covid19 vaccine then lol

Yeah it's great Ali, shame if it goes but we have garlic and other alternatives if we are left on own to defend our flock against diseases.

Cork wyandotte...i hv shamo n imported aseels...whenever they go seriously ill especially respitary problem i give them tylan for few days..almost 99% survive then i make them stronger by feed they never need tht again...apple cider s good too protect keep them healthy...i dont like to kill birds when thr r chances to get better.

ali570

Of coarse don't kill, these ould lads live in a throw away society, its easier to kill and dispose of rather than spend a little time nursing the poor birds back to good health, its a right good antibiotic

Oh so whtis ur advise to axe the birds is it healthy discussion? Respitary disease treated by tylan i know n experience all the birds...i treated many successfully...i dont need to explain u anything .. i m talking with ppl who r already using tylan...dnt b twisting topic if u think u know everything dnt take my advise...
If u think tht isnt racist comment from nama-man..then it seems ur blind...just stay away i m trying to contact host to report this comment...dont b coming from different ids to take attention...just go n keep axing ur poultry...which is so stupid

Finding out what's wrong with our birds isn't easy as I found out very early on. Most vets don't treat poultry. The very few that do use Tylan so are we not to take their advice? Chopping their heads off isn't finding out what's wrong either.

Joseph lawler,, i m raising chicks for years...when they go sick i can find out from symptoms poop color etc...if we nurse them treat them we definitely know more about their behaviour what kind f disease they have...which i do all the time...n i m happy wht i m doing

ali570

I don't get many sick birds if you continuously get sick birds then this is a direct result of using antibiotics incorrectly on incurable diseases an in turn creates carriers that keep infecting healthy birds.

Im just writing from my experience and keeping my birds happy and healthy,i just saw topic discussing tylon so i just taught i shud write my experience.. noone is as careless to b giving medicine to theyre poultry if they dont no whats wrong with them,if they are genuine poultry lovera they wont like to kill them theyll try to find out by symptoms whats wrong and try to treat them thats my opinion .. you cant satsifiy everyone ....done........

Tuesday, August 4th, 2020

Paddycrawford..thts another execuse to carry on topic..i never say i hv as many sick birds but u saying tht...see i hv to explain again n again ..when raising poultry from childhod u see one two cases every year without giving them any medicine before to go sick..as i hv big no of poultry every years.n i m pretty sure my poultry will b stronger healthier than urs..so just dnt keep investigating abt me i just wrote abt tylan been used...i dont hv much time to answer ur self made question...done...

ali570 I have no idea what nationality you are and am not particularly interested either
How my comment can be classed as racist is totally beyond me.
Maybe you have misconstrued one word "junkies" I really don't know but if you look up that word it means people who use drugs
and that's what I, ve seen in certain posts on this thread.
I can assure you there is or never was any racist overtones attached to my comment.

Of course we tend to forget that in these days of Political correctness and the Snowflake culture people imagine all sorts of slights on their characters, shame really as we used to have a lot of fun and harmless banter on here's in the past.

paddycrawford
Tuesday, August 4th, 2020

There you go off topic again paddy,
Are you incapable of following the rules.
Why not Start your own forum about dog vaccinations, maybe not on a poultry site tho.
Tut tut, really.

swan 555

Ah parvo is a different story and I was thinking when the vet talks to you she must be a dodge.😉

paddycrawford
Wednesday, August 5th, 2020

Parvo, mycoplasma, patato/ 🥔 🍠
They All kill, maybe you feel dogs are more important cause they cost more? Or YOU make more from breeding them, not for me to say, I don't know 😕 anyway thats a different topic for a different forum 😉.

swan 555
Wednesday, August 5th, 2020

Parvo and myhcoplasma are too very different diseases and tylan is neither a vaccine or a cure for either so I don't see the relevance and of course dogs are more important their livestock bred as a saleble crop chickens are a hobby to me.

Joseph, are they taking Tylan off the market for certain?
Any idea what's it's being replaced with?

I had one sick hen there for about a week, lost lots of weight, thought she was a goner, I've no idea what she ate but 5 days of Tylan and she's gaining weight and back eating fully.

That could be classed as a discrimanatory comment Swan555

You would have to say something like waterfowl, fowl, exotics and gamebird lives matter so you don,t offend any other class of bird, seems to be the way things are now unfortunately.
