Gaping and splutering

Has anyone had the problem of ducklings from a month old and up gaping their mouth and splutering. Thought it could be worms or a form of parasite. Can anyone advise me on what they think it is. Should I worm them?

It would be very soon to have a worm problem, if you open the beak and shine a light down the throat do you see anything that should not be there? Are they inside or out, if inside is it pretty clean? What are they eating? Do they do this all the time or just as they eat? Do they have plenty of water?
