Quail not laying

Hi lads I've recently bought five quail, four hens and a cock, I've had no eggs off them yet they have plenty of food, water and a light source (to encourage them to lay), I'm not sure of there age, they are coturnix, any advice is appreciated thanks bar

How recently? Usually takes a few days to settle, same as hens. Could be the cold weather? I have some Californian and I was surprised to see them laying, thought it was still a bit early

I would say jumbo coturnix. Kilkeel quail should have birds or eggs to post

Depending on age of quail to 8 to 10 week old is when they tend to start laying but no guarantee on that time scale .
I feed mine with meal worms when going to start laying as good protein . But when they start laying they tend not to stop

I had a batch of quail ( 10 ) they lasted till they were 6 years old and were still laying . No males with them as every time I put one in they killed it after about 30 mins .
If for breeding purposes 2 or 3 years at max I would say .
