Hen with cough/sneeze

Hi all,

I have a young hen, only 22 weeks old, with a very bad cough/sneeze and she's very poorly. I got Baytril 2.5% oral solution from the vet last week but she hasn't improved and has now stopped eating.

All help and advice appreciated.

Many thanks.

tylan given for 7 days would be better for respiatory.
But now u have given her baytril, u can NEVER eat her eggs, as its a lifetime egg withdrawl ,an vet should have told u that,
an it doesnt matter that she hasnt started laying yet, its in her system for life!

Thanks for that, Pearl. The vet didnít tell me that but I totally trust your information. Thanks again.

I was in in the same boat a few weeks ago. The vet gave me Baytril too. I didn't know about the lifetime egg withdrawal only Pearl told me on this website. Had to cull 4 lovely Wyandottes. Vets don't seem to tell people about lifetime egg withdrawal. Tylan doesn't have any egg withdrawal so like me you are learning a hard lesson.

Garlic, cayenne pepper powder and a tumeric powder added to the water.

And some Apple Cider vinegar.

Donít mean to contradict you Pearl. ;)

I donít think that egg withdrawal is forever.
