Johnsonís anti mite spray

Has anyone here ever used Johnsonís anti mite extra spray on hens.ive a couple hens missing feathers and scratching.was thinking of giving them a shot of this.thanks.its for cage birds and pigeon and the active ingredient is permenthum.it says on the bottle not to use on pigeon intended for human consumption.if I withdraw eggs for a week will this be safe. I canít see any red mites on the birds or in the coop so maybe itís lice.im not sure. I handled them and canít see anything on them but the scruffy ones are missing feathers on backs and back of head and under wings.thanks for the help

Thanks for that pearl.2 of them look v bad.a lot of feathers gone on back and especially around the head which had me worried.i dont see any parasites on them but I gave them a good shake of lice and mite powder I got from the vet and I put Vaseline on their legs as one of them looked flaky.going to give the shed a good clean at the weekend when I get a chance and give it a good shot of dettol or jeyes fluid.im learning as I go.is there anything I could feed them to give a boost to feathers growing

A couple of tins of sardines in sunflower oil will give them a bit of a boost as regards throwin out new feathers, has to be in sunflower oil though not brine, other than that its just patience until they come through their moult.
