That's dissapointing, was there many buyers / sellers? What sold well?

Julian, yes people do breed quality poultry now. I don't want to sound rude to anyone but it is hard to find much quality poultry at sales. Your best bet is to go directly to a breeder who has the birds you are looking for.

It was ok. Allot of ducks. A few hybrids, I picked up a nice quad of pekins and I saw one pair of bantam silkys. Wasn't a huge turn out of buyers but the weather could affect that. Like above very few quality birds. Getting on in the year I suppose.

I probably put that too blatantly. I know some people have great stock and buying direct is best but I was at portlaoise 4 years ago and it was full of good stock, it seems the trend at the sales in the last few years. Sad to see

It was far to warm to be carting about birds quality and availability of birds on the decline big time.

I suppose a lot of breeders/fanciers no longer take birds to sales because of their decline in size, so instead they sell them from their house?

Very rarely go to sales nowadays, rather buy and sell directly from breeders, at least you can see parent stock and how they look after their stock. Most of my stock is sold directly to other breeders
