Mareks? advice please!

Hi there,
went up to my group of laying hens this evening and I noticed that one of them was sitting on the floor, but everyone else was in bed.
At first she looked dead but then she lifted her head.
One of her wings is stretched out and she cannot walk or stand, Although she does eat and drink.

She is around 5 years old and I read that it can occur in young and also in older chickens.

I know that mareks cant be treated but I was just wondering if the symptoms sound like it is mareks (which I think it Is)

Thanks in advance,

mereks normally starts slow, with bird losing power in left leg as tumours press on nerves, till gradually it cant walk at all an ends up lying with one leg stretched forward an one back.
sounds like its just age with ur bird, seperate an keep an eye.

Hi pearl.
Thank you for the reply.
I am guessing that it probably was age as she was coming on to over 5 years old.
It’s not too old for a pure bred but she was a hybrid bird.
She was fine one day and the next morning she was on the floor unable to move.
I left her for 3 days giving her food and water but she didn’t improve at all.
Unfortunately I decided to have her culled because it seemed unfair on her.
She couldn’t walk at all and she seemed to be getting worse.
She almost seemed dead but she wasn’t!

Thanks for the help,
