Predator!

I've had trouble with foxes over years, the hens are a largish run which now seems secured against that prdatation but I have a far worse and more upsetting one now.

This thing strikes, kills hens with no struggle, no marks and doesn't take or eat or eat them. No feathers scattered, just looks like they have dropped dead. Neighbours have had their flocks wiped out.
Does anyone know what this predator is and how it might be killed?

Sounds more like disease than a predator. If they are being killed, there will be sign. Only thing that i can think of that may not leave much of a mess is a stoat.

Pine marten protected in Ireland but very plentiful I hope to see them back on the endangered list their easily trapped.

To be honest at the start up thought it was a disease, even blamed rat poison but it's not, the other morning the remaining hens were terrified and my neighbour had been wiped out.

All you can do is set a couple of live trap for mink. If anything else gets caught just contact NPWS to remove and release it.

Set live mink traps put one of the dead chickens in trap then release the culprit into the big sanctuary in the sky.
