Geese question

Hi, I haven't had much success with hatching goslings in the past but I was wondering is it bad for the eggs if the goose sits on them at night?(before going broody) The last goose I had always slept on her eggs and I didn't have any success. Thanks for any advice.

Not a good idea.
The eggs are getting warmed, then chilled.
Lift the eggs daily and store them, if you wish replace them with golf or tennis balls.
Goose eggs will keep for 3 weeks before setting without any problem.
Goodluck.

Just as desy said. When you do set them under her be sure to candle eggs after 10 days and remove any gluggers. Geese have a tendency to break them and mess the nest if they are left too long.

Sometimes with big geese I would take the first few goslings away after the hatch and rear them myself because they can squish them in the nest. If it's a light enough goose this shouldn't be a worry.
