Christmas eggs

Couple of my young pullets started layn the other day,just in time for christmas,happy days.
Anyone gettin any eggs this time of year ?

do many people use light in there shed to keep them laying in winter

Same here from an easter hatch and older birds after moulting have started too. I don't bother with lights no harm to give them a rest.

These were hatched around the 13th of june,so nearly bang on the six month old mark they started laying.
Never used lights and probably never will,letting nature take its course is always the best policy i think.
Good diet,clean water and good clean draughtproof housing and they,ll do the rest when they,re ready.

I have mini appleyards and calls trying to make nests and sit on eggs at the minute, had to take two mini appleyards off nests in the ditches that started sitting around the end of November.

I still get the odd duck egg no hen eggs though.
