Mixing silkie bantams with large chickens

Can bantam silkies be mixed with normal sized chickens? Thanks

I'd say it depends on the type of large chicken. I have pekins and brahma getting along fine. I had a Leghorn and she nearly killed one of them . Even bullied the brahma

I agree it depends on the type of hen they are going in with. Silkies are visually 'handicapped' to some extent by their crest. Silkie plumage has a very different appearance from other hens. And bantams are small. You will have to mix them carefully and watch them well for a while to make sure they aren't being bullied.
Keep the new birds separate for a while. Ideally you should always quarantine new birds for 2-3 weeks minimum. But afterwards you might still keep them separated but within the flock's area so they can become accustomed to each other. When you make the final introduction it is usually recommended to put new birds into the flock's coop at night; watch them carefully in the morning.
