Buy a mink trap.. put a tin of sardines and if you catch a mink or if you "accidentally"catch a pine marten ring the department and ask them to remove/relocate it.. then fix your setup before buying more birds so that its predator proof.. it's not the pine martens fault it's your..if the bank left 50 notes hanging out their windows sit wouldn't we be snapping them up for sport too..

Very hard to keep pinemartin out no matter how well your set up is,i know 1st hand as ive had a visit from 1 in the past.It is very easy for people to say have your place vermin proof but in reality its not as easily to do as some may think.I have seen what a pine martin can do to a mink trap, completely wreck it as some are big animals.I think the goverment should compensate when there is an attack as its them that released them into the wild in a lot of areas.Last week a local farmer asked if i would check some local earths for fox as he had 2 young lambs killed the previous night. The next morning i duly arrived at his house and he showed me the lambs which were in a paddock to the side of his house with fox proof fencing and electric wire top and bottom. When i examined the lambs both had 2 teeth marks to neck and it was plain to be seen it was the work of a pine martin. There is a forestry about 80yds from his house and in the fresh mud the prints of the pine martin were plain to be seen.

I've had my hens almost wiped out since Christmas, first I thought it was a disease, even blamed rat poison, but it's a predator. Neighbour was down with me yesterday, she's been wiped out. Nothing eaten, just killed without a mark. I realise it's pine Martin but what to do?

Get a mink trap and put sardines in it and cover it over in the run along the brinks with branches.if you get him in it you know the rest. If you cant buy one get onto your local gun club and someone there will have one you could borrow.nobodys going to be willing to sit around and wait to hopefully shoot it you need to get it trapped

Ah too far from me. Hopefully someone will help you out. As someone mentioned earlier, the local gun club will have traps, and would be glad to help id say.
