Is that actually worth your while Massey, 12 to incubate 12 eggs for 3 weeks, electricity, meet-up travel..
It's a great service for folks who are stuck with a few eggs, I'd imagine someone with 200 eggs to incubate would most likely have their own incubator.
Good to have a back-up though I suppose in case your own incubator breaks down. :)

for the dozen eggs it may not be but i would expect the eggs to be dropped off and the chicks collected.

Hm, I suppose if you know them, but having complete strangers call to your home with a few eggs in hand...
I don't know but it's great you are offering this service if it's not being abused.
I wish you the best of success with it. :)

Hi Massey,

I do this too, i have had local people and everybody paid, i have it advertised here and I advertised it on done deal and the dealer too. Best of wishes with it, not many do it, I was intending to hire out octagon 20 incubators and hatchmaker but was worried about damage to incubator and maybe not returned again. I have had to keep chicks etc a while longer to suit people, but i have started to charge for that, i charge 10 per week. People maybe think its too dear but most have said to me to cover electricity and your time to do it as well.
Lorna.

I don't think it's too dear quackerlorna, you are taking responsibility for other peoples animals, 10 for a week of feeding them, keeping them warm, housed, safe, healthy and clean is not too much to ask.
If someone doesn't like it then they may pick up their chicks and do it themselves.
It never ceases to amaze me how everything poultry is so undervalued here, buying a goldfish with a bowl & feed will cost you more than a point of lay pullet who will give you eggs, it's a bit crazy.

Are you still providing hatchery services? I am bringing in some rare heirloom breed eggs from the USA. A dozen each of chicken, duck and turkey.
